• How does Family Tree Legends deal with Sources?
Family Tree Legends provides you a means to document all sources that you use in your family history. The Source feature works accordingly:
- A Citation is a specific part of a larger resource (e.g., an excerpt from a book)
- A Source is a larger resource (e.g., a book)
- A Repository is where a larger resource might be located such as a library.
• How do I add a new source?
Navigate to the Facts page for an individual, click the blank area in the S column for a given Fact. A new window will appear allowing to enter a Citation, Source, and Repository relating to the fact.
• How do I manage my sources?
Choose VIEW > SOURCES. A new window will appear allowing to Edit, Delete, Replace, and view the Usage of all of the sources that appear in your file.
• How do I mark a specific source item as private?
Navigate to the homepage of an existing individual in your file, and click on the “Notes” icon on the right-hand side of your screen.
• How do I suppress sources from being displayed in my published file on the GenCircles web site?
- For Citations:
Check This citation is private located at the bottom of the Citations window.
- For Sources:
Check This source is private located at the bottom of the Source Details window.
- For Repositories:
Check This repository is private located at the bottom of the Repository window.
